The current trend in YA books.

I have noticed that Young Adult books these days are carrying more and more dark themes. Issues most kids these days face in their daily lives are being tackled by brave YA authors. Bullying, mental illnesses like depression, suicide... these issues are in YA books everyone talk about in social media. All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven, I Was Here by Gayle Forman, and many others released and will be released this year.

I'm actually all for it! I want kids to have insight as to what others think of these issues. I want kids to feel that they are not alone, that there are others dealing with the same problems/issues that they have.
